Community Impact

At Project Mom Bags, our mission goes far beyond delivering comfort bags. Throughout the year, we create meaningful experiences inside children’s hospitals that remind moms and dads they are seen, celebrated, and never alone — even on the hardest days.

From honoring parents on special holidays to celebrating new milestones and hospital launches, each event is thoughtfully designed to bring joy, encouragement, and a sense of community to families navigating life in the ICU.

Galentine’s Day

During Heart Month, we hosted special Galentine’s celebrations for moms with children in the Cardiac ICU at Children’s Medical Center Dallas and Dell Children’s Medical Center Austin.

Moms spent the afternoon creating vision boards, enjoying a full spread of food and drinks, and connecting with one another beyond the hospital room. Each mom also received a HydroJug water bottle to take home — a small but meaningful reminder that they are cared for, too.

First Annual Toy Drive

During the holiday season, Project Mom Bags brought moments of joy to children and families spending Christmas in the Cardiac ICU through our first annual Christmas Toy Drive. In partnership with Amazing Little Hearts, we delivered over 250 thoughtfully chosen toys to heart warriors whose holidays were unfolding inside hospital walls. Each gift was wrapped with care by volunteers who showed up to serve with love, helping bring comfort, smiles, and a reminder to families that they were not alone during a season that can feel heavy.

Dad Bags & Donuts – Father’s Day

On Father’s Day, we honored the incredible dads spending their day beside their child in the Cardiac ICU with our special Dad Bags & Donuts event. Each dad received a curated “Dad Bag” filled with practical essentials, encouragement, and a few special surprises — along with donuts and coffee to start their morning feeling supported and appreciated.

Mother’s Day Brunch in the Hospital

For many moms, spending Mother’s Day in the hospital is never what they imagined. Our Mother’s Day Brunch brings celebration directly to them — right inside the hospital walls. Through a warm meal, flowers, and connection, we create a moment of joy and reminder that they are deeply valued.

Seasonal & Holiday Outreaches

Throughout the year, we host multiple seasonal and holiday events inside the hospitals, including Christmas toy drives, gift-wrapping events, and special holiday surprises for parents and families. These moments help bring light to seasons that can otherwise feel heavy and uncertain.

Why These Events Matter

When a child is in the hospital, time feels suspended — milestones are missed, holidays look different, and parents often feel isolated. Our events exist to remind moms and dads that they matter too. A simple meal, a small gift, or a few words of encouragement can restore hope, dignity, and strength when it’s needed most.

Growing Impact

  • Serving families at multiple children’s hospitals across Texas
  • 100+ Mom Bags delivered and growing
  • Ongoing monthly hospital support
  • Multiple seasonal family events hosted annually
